Marriage Licenses & Ceremonies

Did You Know?

A marriage license is valid for 60 days from date of issuance and can be used in any county in Florida - not just the one in which it was issued.

Marriage Services Appointment

Couple getting married at the courthouse

Marriage licenses are issued the same day as requested as long as all requirements are met. However, there is a 3-day waiting period to be married for couples who live in Florida, but do not provide proof that they have completed a premarital preparation course. Florida couples wishing to avoid the 3-day waiting period must produce a certificate or printed letter from a premarital course provider indicating they have completed the course.

  • Please read the Family Law Handbook and sign a statement acknowledging that they have done so before applying for the license.
  • Both parties must produce a valid (non-expired) Government issued photo ID. Failure to produce ID means we will not be able to complete your marriage service.
  • An eMarriage application must be filled out prior to your appointment by completing the application online
  • The 3-day waiting period does not start until you come into the office obtain the license.

We currently do not accept same-day appointments, but walk-Ins are always welcome to apply for your marriage license!
